WHAT BIG HAT IS ALL ABOUT

The aim of Big Hat Bushcamp is to give children and adults the ultimate bushcraft experience and leave all who visit the Bushcamp with the knowledge and confidence to safely enjoy the outdoors.

All of our activities are designed to promote personal development, teamwork and leadership, as well as inspire an enduring passion for fresh air and the great outdoors.

Through activities such as matchless firelighting, campfire cooking, shelter building, archery, navigation, wilderness first aid and traditional bushcraft skills, groups at Big Hat Bushcamp discover for themselves how to leave behind the clamour of the 21st century.

Amidst the beautiful woodlands of historic Runnymede in North Surrey, and Godstone in East Surrey, we run holiday and weekend courses, year round, for children, family groups and private parties. For those who wish to immerse themselves in the outdoors, an overnight stay is always an option.

COVID-19 Update

Big Hat Bushcamp Reopening

We are very pleased to announce that we have now reopened for bushcraft courses for groups of up 15 people, as well as our public courses, with capped numbers.
This is a great way to get out of the house, escaping to beautiful private woodland in the Runnymede area.
To make our courses more accessible to small families at this time we have halved the minimum fees to £125 for a four hour session and £200 for an eight hour session, Sunday mornings and week-days until the spring.
Campfire lunch/ dinner is included.
Courses run 7 days a week.

Kids' Club October Half-term 2020

The dates for the Ocotber half-term kids' club week are 26th to 30th October.

Due to the current situation we are capping the number at 15 for each course, so we can only take bookings for the full five days (which is the best way to get the most out of it anyway).

Cost is £200 for the week, or £180 with the multi-child discount. This covers lunch.
